Clausen House Partners With Camping Unlimited to Create Social Community and Fun








Through a $25,000 grant provided by the Thomas J. Long Foundation, Clausen House has been able to partner with Camping Unlimited (also known as Camp Krem) to provide social, adventurous and educational community outings for Clausen House clients. By the provision of the grant, the funds are to be used by summer of 2015.

Camping Unlimited was founded in 1964 with the goal of providing unique, educational and rewarding recreational adventures for individuals with developmental disabilities. Camping Unlimited has provided adventurous and educational weekend outings that include day and overnight trips to places such as San Diego, Lake Tahoe, sailing on the Bay, the Oakland Zoo, the Oakland Athletics. Activities include hiking, gardening, arts and crafts, physical education, dancing, work-experience, and skiing.

Clausen House clients are already enjoying the activities and trips which include a recent overnight “Frozen Fun” adventure to Lake Tahoe on January 16 through 18. Upcoming planned events include an overnight Valentine’s trip, St. Patrick’s Day adventure, day trip to the San Francisco Zoo and overnight trip to San Diego.
