NEW SURVEY FINDS MOST PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ‘STRIVING TO WORK’

A survey taken of 3,000 adults with disabilities across the country found that the majority of people with disabilities “strive to be employed.”  The survey was conducted by the University of New Hampshire for the Kessler Foundation, a New Jersey-based nonprofit that focuses on neurological disabilities. The survey identified numerous barriers to employment and employment success. Two prominent barriers that could not be as readily overcome as other barriers were the availability of job counseling and transportation. The complete survey can be accessed at the Kessler Foundation website.
