Senior Director Program Services
“What inspired you to join Clausen House, what do you enjoy most about your role, and what skills or strengths do you use in your day-to-day work?”
“I was inspired to join Clausen House because its mission and vision closely align with the work I’ve been part of for the past 20 years. I previously worked with a similar agency in a smaller capacity, which strengthened my commitment to this field.
What I enjoy most about my role is being able to apply my experience while continuing to grow. I started my career as a teacher and worked my way up, giving me a strong understanding of the organization from the ground up.
In my day-to-day work, I rely on my experience, adaptability, and collaborative approach. I’m committed to continuous improvement and always looking for ways to better support the organization and those we serve.”
“What has been your most rewarding or memorable experience at Clausen House, and how did it support our mission of person-centered services and community inclusion?”
“One of my most rewarding experiences at Clausen House has been working closely with the individuals we serve, which has strengthened my skills and deepened my understanding of person-centered support. The clients themselves and Clausen House’s strong mission and vision make this work especially meaningful.
A memorable experience for me has been working in the residential homes. This broadened my perspective by allowing me to better understand daily life from the clients’ point of view and see how the skills they learn through our programs support independence, balance, and community inclusion.”
“What have you learned since joining Clausen House, how has the organization supported your professional growth, and what advice would you give to someone considering a career here?”
“Since joining Clausen House, I’ve learned how supportive the organization is, especially through the leadership of our Executive Director, Jaynette. That support has played a key role in my professional growth.
Clausen House has provided opportunities to step up and apply my knowledge, particularly during COVID and times of change, which helped me grow professionally and feel valued.
My advice to anyone considering a career here is to be open to learning and growth—Clausen House is an organization that supports its staff and allows you to make a meaningful impact.”
“What’s a fun fact about you, what do you enjoy doing outside of work, and how would you describe your work style in three words?”
“A fun fact about me is that I’m very involved in my local community. I regularly volunteer in Richmond and Berkeley, help organize fundraising events, and support both seniors and my church. I’m always on the move, whether it’s for work or personal activities.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and taking short trips whenever I get the chance.
My work style in three words would be: dedicated, adaptable, and proactive.”
