Supported Employment Job Coach
Clausen House has a full-time opening for a job coach working with developmentally disabled adults. The job coach will work 35 hours per week and provide on-the-job support to participants who are currently working at various job sites. They will assist client employees in meeting their goals and performing successfully in their position, provide instruction as needed, and facilitate communication between the manager and client employees.
The successful candidate must:
- Possess a valid Driver’s License, automobile, and car insurance. (Mileage is reimbursed)
- Have a flexible schedule in order to visit clients during their work hours.
- Be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to meet new people with ease and communicate effectively
- Have basic computer skills
- Successfully complete a background check and TB test.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for one-on-one training of a client employee
- Ensure that the client is presentable and appropriate for work
- Train client employee with new job tasks
- Assist client employee with scheduling and work adjustment
- Discuss the client employee’s behavior problems with the Director of Supported Employment and work with the client employee to correct inappropriate behavior
- Apply work safety guidelines and practices at each job site
- Complete required paperwork and turn in paperwork in a timely manner
- Fill in for other staff when they are sick or on vacation
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/ Prefer Degree in Social Services and/or substantial experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Experience teaching, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Endurance –Moving about: Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) Move from location to location, up to .5 miles or more at a time. Standing and walking occur at least 85% of the workday when assisting client employees.
Endurance-Overall Strength: Some sedentary work. Bending, lifting, and squatting, with objects weighing up to 40lbs. Must be able to handle client employees with physical impairment problems. Exerts force and or lifts or carries objects weighing up to 40lbs. occasionally.
Environmental Conditions:
Location: Inside/Outside – Work is predominately inside and generally provides protection from weather conditions and temperature changes. Outdoors – accompanying client employees to assist with daily work tasks/activities.
Stairs/Steps: Periodic – does not occur on every shift. Ascend and descend stairs, steps, or similar uneven surfaces to access any required work area or other areas related to functioning in the workplace.
Open Shift Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Part-Time hours available

Position Summary
Under supervision of the Development Specialist, the Development Associate will primarily be responsible for managing Clausen House’s DonorPerfect database and social media (Facebook, Twitter and E-newsletters, as well as the organization’s In-Kind giving. This position will also assist with individual donor activities, overall communications and special events. The Development Associate will be responsible for maintaining donor databases; developing/sending mass mailings; creating constituent reports; making regular social media posts; coordinating and sending E-newsletters (through Constant Contact); requesting and managing In-Kind donations; working on special events; acknowledging gifts and donations; assisting in the development of effective working relationships with donors, volunteers, and foundation representatives to nurture their connection to the organization; and providing office support and departmental assistance to the Development Specialist. This position requires strong organizational and writing skills and an ability to prioritize. Experience with DonorPerfect is a requirement.
