Clausen House’s Adult Education & Activity program’s mission is to empower participants to advocate for and gain access to their hopes and dreams.
Clausen House Goals
Our goals are to challenge each individual intellectually, stimulate her/his creativity, and help her/him maximize their functional level. Program participants gain competency in essential life skills by taking part in classes, cultural events, and volunteer experiences. By learning adaptive social behaviors, clients are better able to achieve inclusion in the community. We teach program participants the skills they need to create and advocate for the life of which they dream.
Individuals entering the program may have limitations in spoken and written communication, interpersonal skills, accessing the community, task completion, money management, self-care, or the ability to pursue leisure activities. All instructors have a bachelor’s degree or higher, and the instructor-to-student ratio is 1:7.
